Gaunce's Market is located on the by-pass. It is a new store and lacks some of the historic appeal but the food is great, the atmosphere is casual and it is a local tradition. |
Dinner |
Hall's on the River is located about 4 miles from Winchester on the Kentucky river. The views are awesome and the food is very down home and yummy! |
What to Do... |
Morning |
Walk around downtown, enjoy the shops and eat breakfast. There are many small independent shops to chose from and historic buildings to tour, try the Opera house. |
Afternoon |
Head out to Daniel Boone Fort on the Kentucky river. There you can see re-enactiments of furniture building, candle making, basket making and more. There are many buildings to tour so you can get a feel of how it was when Daniel Boone settle Kentucky. |

Evening |
Winchester is not a hot-bed of night life but after dinner you might enjoy a walk around town, especially if it is the holidays. The decorations are amazing from October through December. |
Late Night |
For late night activities you might want to drive into Lexington. Lexington is only about 20 minutes from Winchester and offers many great bars downtown with lots of fun for all tastes. |
Comments |
The historic buildings of downtown are beautiful and there is an attempt to keep them original and in full use. Many local families have opened businesses selling a wide variety of items many of which are very artistic and unique. |
