Where to Eat...

Breakfast

The town does not have that many places to eat, but Shoney's is the best in my book. I love the buffet, and it is perfect for a family of picky eaters.

Lunch

Lunch would be at Pig Out BBQ. They have the best BBQ sandwiches, plus they are close to the lake.

Dinner

Dinner would be at La Finca's in downtown Morehead. Their food is amazing. I always get their chicken fajita's, which they bring out in a hot pan. Everytime I get them all the other people there look at them like they wished they had ordered them too!

What to Do...

Morning

In the morning I would go to the Peddler's Mall. The mall has amazing unusual merchandise that cannot be found anywhere else. It is not unusual to find a child's violin in within the same area as an antique dresser. The prices are reasonable as well.

Afternoon

In the afternoon I would go to Cave Run Lake and enjoy the water and scenery. They have many areas where the family can get together and have lunch while the kids play. Also, the Pig Out BBQ is nearby so you can get lunch and enjoy nature.

Evening

The evening consists of a trip to the movies. The Morehead Cinema Six has is an excellent facility. Air conditioned with exceptional screens and service, it is the perfect place to enjoy a great movie.

Late Night

The late night options in Morehead are not very family friendly. There are bars that are oriented to the college students from the University. I would not suggest them for a family excursion.
